Victim Advocacy

Our Victim Advocacy Program is the cornerstone of our Agency’s C.A.R.E Model to improve advocacy, resources, education, reduce stigma, and promote justice and fairness for victims of crime in our community.

We have dedicated advocates specifically for survivors and victims of crime in these categories:

• Survivors of Homicide Victims
• Rape/Sexual Assault
• Identity Theft, Fraud, or Financial Crime
• Elder Abuse
• Adult Survivors of Child Sexual Abuse
• Domestic/Family Violence
• DUI Crashes
• Hate Crimes
• Kidnapping
• Sex Trafficking
• Labor Trafficking
• Robbery
• Stalking/Harassment
• Teen Dating Violence
• Terrorism and Mass Violence
• Arson
• Assault

Our Advocates Can:

• Contact victims by phone or mail after a police report is filed
• Help victims identify and address their most pressing safety concerns
• Help victims develop a safety plan that meets their individual needs
• Inform victims of their rights and options, and link them to available services
• Explore eligibility for victim compensation and help victims apply as needed
• Advocate on behalf of victims with various systems, such as criminal justice, housing, and public benefits
• Educate public and private sectors on issues around crime, trauma, and healing in our community
