How to Volunteer
People volunteer for different reasons and come from all walks of life. Whether it's greeting at an event, providing a compassionate presence for a Helpline caller or answering a rape crisis call - Lifelines has a volunteer job that will fit your schedule and interests!
In the average year, our volunteers donate hundreds of hours of service to help people in their community to build better lives. Volunteering not only makes you feel like you're making a difference, you really are making a difference!

Services for Youth
Provide youth in our programs with mentoring/academic tutoring and assist them in preparing for a self-sufficient life in our community.
Rape Crisis Center
Render personal support to traumatized families and individuals through services ranging from responding to calls for help, to providing a compassionate presence at local hospitals after the rape, to assisting with the court adjudication of cases. Intensive training is required and regularly offered in direct care volunteer positions.
Community Resource Line
Whether community members experience a personal or community disaster, provide a compassionate presence, support and community resources to callers in need. Training is required.
Internships
Opportunities for service as a volunteer are not limited to the areas highlighted above. Students and interns may arrange a variety of fieldwork experiences to satisfy academic requirements in areas such as counseling, court advocacy, case management, or business administration. Whatever your age, available time, or interests, Lifelines will work hard to find a place for you to contribute as volunteer to the services we offer in the community.
Special Events & Special Areas
Do you like volunteering for special events? Lifelines has several events throughout the year that welcome volunteer involvement. Whether you are interested in planning and organizing, or set-up and clean-up, your volunteer assistance is needed.
