“Rollercoasters” – Helping Children and Teens affected by Divorce Wednesday, Sep 9th, 2009 Children and teens impacted by divorce often experience a fear of change, fear of being abandoned, losing attachment to parent(s) and coping with parental tension. “Rollercoasters” and “Just Us Girls” are groups for children and teens affected by divorce. It helps our youth start their recovery from the stress caused by divorce and see a brighter future.
The group is conducted by a licensed practicing counselor (LPC). Classes begin on September 14th and will be held throughout the year. Through funding from the Student Funding Council of the United Way of Southwest Alabama, scholarships are available. “Rollercoasters” is a 4-week group for 5 to 11 year olds and “Just Us Girls” is a 6-week group for 13 to 16 year old girls. Call 602-0909 to register.
