Strong African American Families Program Now Open To Youth Age 10 -14 & Parents
Would you like to learn more about building a stronger relationship with your child? How about what to expect in the pre-teen years? Strong African American Families is a program designed to teach parents and their children how to build on their natural strengths and navigate through this process. This program will be held on Tuesdays from 3:30 - 5:30 p.m with all meals and childcare provided. Prizes are awarded to attendees as well.
Topics covered include developing close relationships with parents, family therapy, general life skill training and much more. Registration is now open and you can contact Kelsey Bryant for more information. Kelsey can be reached at 251-431-5100 or by emailing kbryant@lifelinesmobile.org.
Mary Callen, Family Counseling Center counselor, recently spoke to the Lifelines Counseling Services Board of Directors about the recent experience. "This has been my favorite program. We were able to see a difference in the lives of the families we worked with." At the end of the program, each family was provided with a framed family photo for them to keep. One mom commented this was the first family photo they have had since the daughter was 2 years old.
