Lifelines Counseling Services takes pride in being able to offer the community help and assistance, especially when they need it most. That's why it's always great to hear positive feedback from people calling in to our 2-1-1 line for assistance. Community member, Robyn, recently called the 2-1-1 line on behalf of her client who was in need. This is what she wrote: "As a concerned Banker trying to gather some resources for an elderly client, I made a call to the 2-1-1 line this afernoon. I explained to the 211 representative, that I have a client who does not have enough money for his medication this month. The representative patiently listened to my client's dilemma. She asked me a couple questions to determine the best organization to refer him to; and then she provided me with the contact information to pass along. She even provided some additional services, as you and I both know, that seldom do the people we serve only have one issue. The thing that impressed me most about this young lady was her tone of voice and apparent compassion toward helping another person in need. She seemed very knowledgeable and eager to help. We need more people like her in this world!" What is 2-1-1? Volunteers provide information and referrals to community agencies and groups as well a a listening ear, a helping hand and crisis prevention/intervention.
